Route 65 services to Ballymore Eustace are facing restrictions from Russborough House due to road works 9th to 22nd May 2005.
Dublin Bus is providing a minibus, operated by private operator Mac Diarmada Coaches which links with all the scheduled 65 departures & arrivals, with passengers transfers at the traditional 65 Blessington terminus. The Blessington to Ballymore leg is operated by the minibus, taking a diversion around the back of Russborough House over some narrow roads, used during the diversion, unsuitable for either a double or single decker.
Ringsend Garage Volvo B7TL, AV 20 is seen at the 65 Blessington terminus, close to Blessington Industrial Estate, just south of the village providing a convenient layover point Saturday 14th May 2005. Behind AV 20 is the minibus linking Blessington to Ballymore during the roadwork's.
Mac Diarmada Coaches, using this 12 seater Volkswagen minibus on the Dublin Bus 65 " Buslink " , seen here pictured at Ballymore, having connected with the 13:05 City Centre 65 service at Blessington.
On the trip down, the coach was full, both with locals, tourists & anglers.
Seen loading up for the return trip, note the Dublin Bus logo on the windscreen, along with the laminate " 65 Buslink " sign on the dashboard. The driver does NOT take cash/ tickets as the service is effectively free linking Ballymore with Blessington. The timetable does not allow for much hanging around at Ballymore. That's the driver beside the passenger door as the paparazzi snap this unusual event ( well, for bus enthusiasts.....)
Interior of the minibus, which was both comfortable & clean. The road surface left allot to be desired, passing very narrow & twisty roads, over the 10 minute trip time.
Back at Blessington, Dublin Bus AV 20 takes passengers from the Ballymore minibus & on to Dublin City Centre.
That's the driver from the Dublin Bus tv commercial !!!!
