Coastal Tour
Coastal Tour
The Dublin Bus Coastal Tour livery has been revised in the past few days from the traditional green n cream to a scheme very similar to the current City Tour fleet.
Here's a feature on Donnybrook Volvo B7TL, AV 91, the 1st to receive the revised livery, seen on Sunday 9th May 2004.
AV 91 on the outside passes by very similar open top Olympian RA 251 at Dublin Bus Head Office on O' Connell Street. AV 91 will soon be joined by similar AV 92 also used on the Coastal Tour.
Dublin Bus operate 2 Coastal Tours, the North Coast Tour in the morning, taking in sights such as the Casino at Marino, Malahide Castle & Howth Fishing Village. The South Coast Tour, operates both morning & afternoon, highlights include picture postcard Enniskerry Village & Avoca hand weavers.
The livery, along the lines of the City Tour colors, has snapshots of locations that both the North & South Coast Tours visit.
AV 91 has already operated the North Coast Tour this morning. When neither 2 Coastal Tours are available to operate the tours, similar AV class Volvo B7TL's are used on the tour, usually Cityswift.
On some occasions, 2 buses are used for the same tour if heavy loadings require. The South Coast tour is longer & more popular.
