About route 122...
Route 122 is a high frequency double deck service by Dublin Bus operated from Phibsboro Garage. Originally called route 22 when Dublin Bus was formed, it was converted to high frequency minibus operation using ME class Mercedes Benz 811 & 814 with Eurocoach bodywork & re named route 122. The route was too popular for the limited seating capacity of the minibuses & reverted back to double decker operation, retaining its 122 number.
Route 122 operates from Ashington on the Navan Road, operating into the housing scheme of Cabra, serving Phibsboro, the Mater Hospital, O'Connell Street, Georges Street, South Circular Road & Drimnagh. It operates 7 days a week with a peak frequency of every 10 minutes.
Route 122 is operated by Phibsboro Garage using a mixture of Volvo Olympians & low floor Volvo Alexander ALX400's.
