Putting the " plus " in Eurolines
Bus Eireann launched 2 new Scania Irizar tri-axle coaches into service on the Ireland to UK Eurolines service in July 2006.
Mostly operating Eurolines route 890 from Waterford to London, here is a feature on the two Scania's SP 89 & 90 from around the country.
SP 89 is seen leaving Parnell Place,
Bus Eireann's Cork bus station on route 890 to London.
From time to time, SP 89 & 90 operate Bus Eireann routes 4,5 & 6 between Waterford & Dublin. SP 89 is seen on layover on Georges Quay, Dublin
SP 90 about to operate a route 5 service from Waterford via New Ross & Gorey to Dublin

- SP 89 & 90 begn operating the Eurolines Ireland to UK routes in July 06.
- SP 89 & 90 have unique Bus Eireann Eurolines " PLUS " logo's, with extra legroom, air con & dvd player with 5 piece monitors
- SP 89 operates the regular 890 services from Limerick via Cork to London, departing Cork every second day.
- SP 90 is the back up vehicle, operating the daily 09.50 Waterford to Limerick, returning as the 16.15 Limerick to Waterford as the feeder Eurolines coach, although at busy times during the summer operates through to London
- SP 89/90 are allocated to Waterford Garage
Update March 2008
Both tri-axles SP 89 & 90 were transfered from Waterford to Broadstone following a reduction on the Bus Eireann 890 service & subcontracting to Bernard Kavangh & Sons.
