CITYSWIFT

End of the brand with Dublin Bus
The Dublin Bus " Cityswift " brand is set to vanish from the various Olympian & B7TL's buses during 2006 as the fleet transforms into the new yellow & blue livery.
Introduced in 1994 with the introduction of the 40 strong P class DAF Plaxton Verde's at Phibsboro Garage on remodeled route 39 to Clonsila & Blanchardstown.
In 1995, new Olympians were delivered in the Cityswift livery from RA 216 upwards including........
RA 216- 219 for route 39 at Phibsboro
RA 220- 224 for route 46A at Donnybrook
RA 225- 229 for route 25A at Conyngham Road
RA 230-235 for routes 77/ 77A at Ringsend

It wasn't long however before Cityswift liveried buses drifted onto normal routes & so the brand was diluted.

Harristown Garage RV 617 & 618 are seen above at the bus bay at Blanchardstown Shopping Centre in March 2005 operating routes 237 & 239. These buses were inherited from Broadstone Garage where they had operated peak time " euro " duties during the week usually on xpresso routes. They continue to spend most of their time around Blanchardstown.
Harristown Garage RV 617 is seen above at route 239's terminus at Liffey Valley Shopping Centre 26th March 2005.
At this time, its very rare to have Olympians operating the route, due to the narrow roads along the 239 route between Westmanstown & Luttrellstown golf clubs & was usually operated by the Mercedes Vario MV class minibuses.
Rear view of the Cityswift livery, featuring sweeping grey, orange & blue lines, with " direach- ar fud na cathrach " in Irish ( directly - all over the city ), similar theme to the Irish slogans on the City Imp brand " go minic anseo, go tapaidh ansuid ". There is also a swift icon in the graphics.
" Super Cityswift " was introduced as part of the Customer Focus, with cosmetic extra " Quality Customer Service " decals on the windows.
