Life after Clontarf Garage

Olympians find new homes......
The last 90 D registered Olympian in 1990, RH 60, 90 D 1060 originally delivered to Clontarf Garage, seen on Cathal Brugha Street 26th September 2004, probably resting between duties on the 120, now part of Phibsboro Garage.
RH 62, also seeing further service at Phibsboro following the scramble to withdraw a sizable quantity of AD class DAF SB 220's there. Since transfer to Phibsboro, both were quickly treated to the new fleet livery indicating some service left in these Olympians.....
While Phibsboro absorbed RH 60 & 62, Conyngham Road received similar RH 61, 63 & 64 from temporary storage in Broadstone. Conyngham's slightly older RH 76 & 77 had been sold to Ensignbus bus in the UK so the ex Clontarf buses provided a filler for the shortfall. All 3 can be found on frontline CR routes.
RH 63 seen above on a railink route 90 service, 2nd July 2004.
RH 165 originally delivered to Clontarf Garage in 1993 as part of a batch of 14 for the garage. These Olympians had a new lime green interior panels & grey trimmed seating. Transferred to Harristown since.

Not alone did Summerhill acquire Olympian RV 542 ( & 543 ), but also an offshoot route of the 27, route 27C. RV 542- 547 ( excluding 545 ) were gradually taken away from Clontarf, them being the first dot matrix displays in the garage, leaving 541 all on its own now. RV 542 is seen operating route 27C from Lesson Street Bridge, a peak time route benefiting commuters  with a southside city service.
Finally, RV 546 also transferred to Summerhill Garage seen operating a route 16 to Kingston 3rd July 2004. The LUAS red line can be seen on the left side of the picture, which has recently been inaugurated.
