Conyngham Road Garage has now the oldest batch of original Leyland Olympians still in service with the company since the RH type was introduced into service in 1990.
RH 81 can be seen above on a wet Dame Street 9th April 2004 having operated route 78a from Liffey Valley Shopping Centre. This bus was originally delivered to Conyngham in Wedding bus livery.
Following closely behind by the successor to the Olympian, a Volvo B7TL. AV 297 also of Conyngham is operating a 51B in from Dunawley in Clondalkin.
Conyngham RH 82 leads the charge of Olympians around by the Central Bank with Trinity College, showing off all 3 Dublin Bus liveries, old core, Cityswift & the new yellow/ blue fleet colours in the rear of the picture.
RH 82 is a peak service route 91, which operates as a non timetabled route between Aston Quay & Heuston Station to cope with the large volumes of rail commuters, particularly those using the Arrow rail service from Heuston Station to Naas/ Sallins/ Newbridge. Some route 91's operate right into the station terminating close to the Arrow platforms for added convenience.
Like RH 81, 82 was also delivered in Wedding Bus format.

Conyngham RH 74 passes by the Central Bank on route 79 from Ballyfermot 9th April 2004.
Despite their age & non low floor capabilities, they can still be still on frontline duties from dawn to dusk on primary routes. Under the 12 year profile on Dublin Bus vehicles, this batch should have been sold on by now, but plan to stay within the fleet for some time yet pending medium terms plans for the fleet.

When Clontarf received new Volvo ALX 400's AV 344- 346, RH 63/64 were absorbed into the Conyngham fleet for further use. Their fleet numbers tie in nicely with Conyngham, making the batch RH 63-75.

Former Conyngham Road was taken along with similar RH 65/66 for Driver Training duties, receiving the distinctive red/ white livery. Last year, some driver trainers, from Donnybrook & RH 66/67 were taken out of the Driving School & converted for the City Tour, as RH 67 demonstrates on O' Connell Street 9th May 2004.
Conyngham RH 71 illustrates that these Olympians are here to stay for some time, now that they are receiving the new Dublin Bus corporate fleet livery. The genuine Alexander body RH Olympians are receiving these distinctive Dublin Bus castle logos on the front.
RH 71 is seen above on route 91 about to take up service on Aston Quay 26th March 2004.
** since this feature was launched, all of Conyngham Road's 1991 Leyland Olympians were withdrawn by July 2005 **
