NEW  DT Class enter service
D T 5
DT 5, one of ten Cummins 10 litre  engined Dennis Tridents with Transbus ALX 400 bodywork seen on Upper O' Connell Street 13th September 2003 shortly after entering service.

Dublin Bus has traditionally opted for the VOLVO B7TL 7 litre engine with Tranbus bodywork, taking  329 such vehicles so far since 2000, however this is the first Dennis chasis  received by Dublin Bus.

The 10 Tridents in core livery are based in Broadstone Garage & operate generally on cross city routes 19/19A, although from time to time, also appear on Euro routes.

While the Dennis & Volvo share the same Transbus body, the Dennis model is slightly higher. There are some minor distinguishing bodywork changes & some interior changes, in particular some improvements in the drivers cab.
One noticeable missing feature on the DT's is any reference to its Dennis/ Cummins manufacture with no badge or logo on the exterior....
D T 7
Similar DT on Westmoreland Street heading northbound, with a DAF SB 220 Phibsboro Garage AD class on route 122, recently transfered from Donnybrook Garage.
The recent arrivals of the 10 DT class, plus similar AV class to Conyngham Road, allowed for substantial transfers of various buses between garages.
