In 1988 Dublin Bus received 2 demonstrators from MCW & Leyland as a replacement for the aging Bombardier & Atlantean double decker fleet.

LD 1 ( F 817URN ) was a Leyland Olympian in allover white seen above at Donnybrook Garage.
After evaluation with Dublin Bus, F817URN passed to Isle of Man Transport as BMN88G fleet number 88 also as a demonstrator, before being sold onto Solent Blue Line in Southampton.
MD 1 ( F181YDA ) was a Metro Camel Weyman ( MCW ) Metrobus double decker supplied to Dublin Bus complete in two tone green livery operating from Phibsboro, Donnybrook & Summerhill Garage. MCW had secured 15 Metrorider minibuses for Dublin Bus in 1988/89 however Dublin Bus opted for the Leyland Olympian with deliveries commencing in early 1990.
