Quickpark, who offer long term carparking at Dublin Airport, introduced a new corporate brand & new Mercedes Citaros in March 2007.
Previously, Quickpark had contracted the shuttle bus operation from the car park facility on the old Swords Road to the airport terminal to the First Group. First had been using older version Citatos, in allover white livery with Quickpark logos.
07 KE 2609 is one of four new Citaros owned by Quickpark itself which operate the shuttlebus to & from the carpark.
07 KE 2609 is seen at the terminus at Dublin Airport. This area at the Airport has recently been re designed & now designated a coach & bus parking area. The car hire sections have been relocated & long bus bays have been introduced for the various long term shuttle buses ( Green & Blue ) operated by First on behalf of the Dublin Airport Authority, plus Quickpark. A new coach parking area has been developed for the various private operators now serving Dublin Airport on their route networks.
Contrasting the old & new Quickpark buses, the white Mercedes Citaro is the background was typical of the shuttlebuses used on the Quickpark contract while the new 07 Citaro owned by Quickpark in the foreground.
With the termination of the Quickpark contract, First has transferred its whole fleet of Citaros back onto its contracted Green & Blue service. It had been using First Manchester liveried Wright single deckers & these have now been withdrawn, some returning to Manchester already.
The new Quickpark Citaro's feature the latest " Bluetech 5 ", combining a tweaked high performance diesel engine, along with a catalytic converter & AdBlue tank for lower engine emissions.

In 2005, Quickpark launched " Quickpark mobile " allowing customers to reserve spaces on line in advance of arrival. Authorization codes were sent by sms to the customers mobile phone & keyed in on arrival & departure at Quickpark.
Quickpark competes with the Dublin Airport Authority with long term car park facilities.
In 2005, Quickpark made a profit of 1.2 million euros.
The DAA operates 3 facilities....
Red + Green parks off the old Swords Road & Blue car park opposite the main Dublin Airport runway & close to Horizon Business Park.
Quickpark continues to be cheaper than the DAA for parking by 1 euro per day.

The new 2007 buses & drivers are now run by Quickpark themselves, previously the shuttlebus was contracted out to the First Group.
Buses run every 5 minutes approx from the car park to Dublin Airport 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Quickpark facility has space for 3,750 cars

The new Quickpark Citaro's interior, features a greay interior, indivual full height seating & green grab rails. An LCD at the front of the bus indicates the buses location in the Quickpark car park highlighting the next stop.
