Volvo Olympian RA 301 of Donnybrook Garage parked at Dun Laoghaire DART Station 29th Jan 2005 in the new Dublin Bus corporate livery.
RA 301 is part of batch RA 300-306 at Donnybrook Garage & generally are allocated to route 45A.
RA 299 - 306 were originally delivered to Conyngham Road Garage in the old two tone green livery before transferring to Donnybrook Garage.
Rear view of 301 taken on Crofton Road, Dun Laoghaire DART Station can be seen in the distance to the left. This bus terminus for the gigantic 46A & 75 has recently been extended, the newly laid brickwork can been seen just on front of the bus as it hasn't blended in yet. Buses on route 45A usually operate via Marine Road, using the roundabout at the Stena Line terminal as a turning point before heading back up towards Dun Laoghaire.
The rear ad on 301 is part of the Dublin Bus " Safe Journey " campaign with both interior & exterior ads. The Alexander badge is usually found on the front only with a smaller square trademark on the rear engine door.
Finally, RA 301 outside Bray DART Station. Previously, route 45A's just operated to the Station, but in October 2004, during a sector review, route45A's were extended to Ballywaltrim in the west of Bray along with the extension of route 145 from its previous short stint Ballywaltrim to Bray service, now operating into Dublin City Centre.
Route 45A which follows the DART from Dun Laoghaire to Bray meanders through Sallynoggin, Ballybrack & Shankhill as it travels southwards along this bus corridor. Its now exclusively Olympian operated.
