Leyland Olympian RH 127 ( 92 D 127 ) was delivered to Dublin Bus Summerhill Garage in January 1992. It was part of a batch for Summerhill from RH 126- 142, being the first garage to receive Olympians that year arriving in the former Dublin Bus two tone green.
RH 127 is seen above on cross city route 16A to Dublin Airport in Cityswift livery just prior to withdrawal.
By 2006, Summerhill was still operating RH 126 - 130, 133-136 from the batch, while 131, 132 & 137 were part of the Driving School, RH 138- 139 had been operating in Harristown since last 2004 & 140-142 were driver trainers in white/ red livery.
Ensignbus purchased 47 Dublin Bus Olympians in late 2005, mainly 1991 models from Phibsboro & Conyngham Road & the Summerhill 1992 batch.
RH 127 is seen above at Ensignbus, Purfleet, UK on Saturday 18th March 2006 having just been collected by its new owner T M Travel of Chesterfield, still in basic Cityswift livery & centre door removed. It was driven to its new home with TM Travel 170 miles away without a hitch.
Finally, RH 127 now registered J619CEV in full T M Travel livery. Still retaining the traditional Dublin Bus green moquette seating & some other familiar signs.
Yes another Dublin Bus Olympian far away from The Hill !!!!
Many thanks to Rob Collis for making this feature possible.
