Volvo Olympian RV 520 of Conyngham Road.
Pictured above at Connolly Railway Station at the now removed " ramp " at the 90 terminus 30th September 2002.
At this time, it is seen with an allover Guinness livery, except for the front. This " railink " livery, which is only barely visible at the front was only on display for about 1 year when the Guinness advertisement was applied to the entire fleet of railinks ( RV 517-520 ).
Same bus, but different coat.
RV 520 seen on Capel Street bridge 23rd March 2003 in Dublin Bus core livery on short stint route 91 which only operates from Heuston Station to the City Centre to cater for extra demand.
With the ending of the Guinness contract on RV 517-520 this year, these buses have gradually being sent for re spray into core livery .
( RV 519 remained in Guinness/ Railink livery until mid July 2003 before being re sprayed ).
RV 520 looks particularly smart without its adframes fitted, neither has RV 517. These buses continue to be used on route 90 railink, thanks to the extra luggage racks fitted behind the centre doors, but they are also creeping onto other Conyngham routes from time to time.
Route 90 is expected to receive new Volvo B7TL's with revised railink livery later this year.
Conyngham Road Garage RV 520 seen on Aston Quay, passing out similar Cityswift liveried RV 613, 2nd March 2002. RV 520, while in overall railink livery received offside/ nearside & rear advertisements for GUINNESS.
RV 520 over O' Connell Bridge 8th April 2004 on route 25A from Superquinn, Lucan. Nowadays, RV 520, along with the other former Olympian railinks RV 517- 519 can be seen operating any Conyngham route.
Whoever she said she looked like the back of a bus ????
RV 520 with its mega rear for MANGO clothing stores raises the profile of the back of a bus & no doubt has caused a few stares AT THE BUS........is that BUS OR BUST............is mega anyway !!!
