Dublin Bus Volvo Olympian RA 256 ( 96 D 256 ) seen above operating route 114 at its Kilcross terminus at Sandyford in October 2005.
RA 256 was delivered in batch RA 252- 263 in Cityswift livery for route 46A. Over the years, buses have been cascaded down from the 46A Stillorgan Flyer to lower profile routes & RA 256 is seen in the current core Dublin Bus fleet colours.
Route 114 operates Monday to Saturday, with a trip time of 30 minutes, using 2 buses during the peak, 1 off peak. It connects with the DART at Blackrock DART Station, with the terminus close to the station entrance, although if the bus is not there, it can be cold & miserable.
Route 114 has a new dedicated bus terminus at the entrance to Kilcross housing estate, long gone are the days when the rare 48B bus operated from Kilcross to the City Centre. Route 114 is traditionally a DART feeder bus, linking Sandyford with its sprawling industrial estate & the DART rail network.
