Dublin Bus Ringsend Garage is the 2nd garage during 2006 to receive new ALX400 double deckers. After Donnybrook receiving the first batch with AX 449- 468, deliveries to Ringsend commenced in May with AX 469 upwards.
The arrival of new AX's has resulted in the beginning of the end of the original RH type Leyland Olympians at the Garage & will lead to Harristown being the only garage with RH operation.
The last remaining RH's at Ringsend Garage before the arrival of the AX's were :
RH 105-110 - delivered in 1991
RH 153 - delivered in 1992 to Donnybrook & transferred to Ringsend as cover bus
RH 168-175 - the last batch of original Leyland chassis to Dublin Bus in 1993
At this stage, the RH's were usually operating Monday to Friday, mostly Euro duties for the am & pm peak duties.
AX 473 is seen just days in service, pictured above at the route 15B terminus at Anne Devlin Park in Templeogue on Saturday 27th May 2006. All the AX's delivered to Ringsend have been confined to the 15 group which is normal practice for new buses delivered there.

Complete with yellow grab rails as standard now, LED " stopping " when bell push activated, new flat window sills ( handy for resting elbows ) & no smoking sticks " above " the advertisement slots.

Only a rear ad for Burger King has been applied so far.
There is a bus bay pull in here, but only suitable for 1 bus with the first stop up just a little further complete with shelter.
Similar AX 476 seen on Eden Quay, the new terminus for the 15 group previously along the college wall at Trinity College.
AX 476 was delivered later than the rest of the batch.
