Former Dublin Bus Leyland Olympian RH 74 ( 91 D 1074 ) at Blanchardstown Shopping Centre April 2005 on orbital route 76A to Balrothery, Tallaght.
RH 74 was delivered to Dublin Bus Conyngham Road Garage in March 1991 in two tone green & was its first batch of these new Leyland Olympians for the garage getting RH 65 to 83 that year.
The green moquette seating dates back to the delivery of the KC & KD class in the early 80's & continued on the Olympians until RH 154 when a new aqua blue/ gray trim was introduced.
This green trim was very hard wearing however is fast disappearing with the withdrawal of the early Olympians.
Upper saloon of RH 74 & still in good condition after 14 years active service.
RH 74 at the Balrothery terminus in Tallaght, close to the M50. Route 76A services are interwoven into route 76B which operates from this terminus & along the same routing as far as Kylemore Road, where it terminates close to The West County Hotel. The 76A was introduced in 1990 as an extension of the 76 operating to Blanchardstown.
Route 76A was initially operated by KC single deckers but due to growing demand, KD double deckers & gradually Leyland/ Volvo Olympians began operating on the route. Its one of the few routes not to benefit from low floor/ wheelchair accessible buses such as the AV class & is currently the only Dublin Bus route to operate in service along the West Link Toll Bridge.
