AX 463 is the first Donnybrook AX taken out of scheduled service & placed in storage at Broadstone pending cleaning & removal of etched windows.

AX 503 is the last remaining AX into normal service, being delivered to Summerhill Garage early August, following a delay caused by Alexander Dennis annual holidays.

Mid August & stored RH's at Donnybrook ( RH 143- 153 ) have begun re entering service on normal routes having been in storage since delivery of AX 449 upwards.
RH 145, 149, 155 & 161 in active service by mid August.

AX 463, part of the AX group operating route 7 since their arrival is the first AX withdrawn & stored at Broadstone alongside brand new 06 AX's just delivered from Falkirk.

AX 520 previously delivered to Conyngham Road Garage was on promotional duties on behalf of radio station FM104 for the All-Ireland semi final at Croke Park between Mayo & Dublin. AX 520 was shrouded in the Dublin colours on the nearside at Drumcondra at the old BK Motors Garage.

Ringsend's stored RA Olympians ( RA 196- 199 ) which had been stored at the garage since May 2006, following reductions on some Tallaght routes have been re-entering service at Ringend given some AX's moving to Broadstone for cleaning.

Drivers rosters are split between 3 dutues ( earlies starting @ 4 am onwards, reliefs @ 11.30 & lates from 2 pm onwards )

AX 390 operating route 7 today with Ryder Cup livery applied, Ryder Cup/ RTE Radio 1 on left side while Failte Ireland on opposite. Front still Dublin Bus.
Meanwhile, AX 521 received an allover livery for RTE Radio 1 on Sunday 17th Sept at Broadstone.

By 17/6/06, all AX deliveries not for normal service now in Broadstone.....that is AX 449 to AX 539












































Dualway Coaches open toppers 83 LH 931 & 90 D 1055 under the worldwide citysightseeing brand have received partial allover liveries for mobile phone operator O2 who are an official partner to the Ryder Cup 2006. While there is already some mega rear O2 / Ryder Cup ads on both Dublin Bus & Dualway, the two Dualway oper toppers are treated with an inspired green moss resin to the bus to minic grass. The livery is very eye catching & applied except for the fronts.

Extra buses ( mainly AV/ AX class ) used from other garages during event as required, especially when Punchestown Racecourse opened up as alternative Park & Ride site due to flooding at both Weston & PGA caused by arrival of Hurricane Gordon during Thursday-Friday 21/22nd September 2006

Donnybrook RH 89, 90, 91, 147, 148, 151 & Ringsend RH 153, 168, 170, 172- 175 which were operating in service last week during the Ryder Cup already back in Broadstone in temporary storage again.

Phibsboro's 5 AD class were returned to stoarge at Broadstone on Monday 25th Sep as no longer required on route 122

Conyngham Road was ahead of the other garages to gradually introduce its 06 AX class into service.

Conynygham Road VA class VA 3, 5, 7 & 9 already moved ( withdrawn ) to Broadstone by today.

The Ryder Cup Golf Tournament will be held in The K Club in Straffan, County Kildare from September


Ryder Cup 2006

The Ryder Cup Golf Tournament will be held in The K Club in Straffan, County Kildare from September 22nd- 24th 2006.

Transportation to the K Club will be provided from 19th -24th September.

Due to security arrangements for the event, spectators are advised that the area surrounding the K Club will be cordoned off and vehicular and pedestrian access will not be permitted to members of the public, with the exception of Straffan residents.

Intending spectators are also advised that in order to comply with security restrictions, the Bus Éireann Dublin/Edenderry service, (No 120) which normally serves Straffan Village will not enter Straffan during this time and will instead go via Barberstown Cross.

The travel options to the Ryder Cup consist of the following:

1. A rail/bus service between Connolly Station, Dublin and the K Club, provided by Iarnród Éireann.

2. The provision of park and ride facilities in two locations - Palmerstown House in Johnstown and Westin Aerodrome, Lucan, with a continuous shuttle bus service in operation between the park and rides and the K Club.

Buses will operate from the Park and Ride sites on a continuous basis throughout the day from 06.30am. Journey times between the park and ride sites and the K Club will be approximately 25-30 minutes.


Rail/Bus Option

Special inclusive return rail & shuttle bus tickets between Connolly Station and the K Club are available. Passengers travel by train between Connolly Station and Leixlip (Louisa Bridge) with onwards bus transfers provided to the K Club.
These special tickets will only be valid on the date shown and on the customers selected train service in the outbound direction from Connolly Station.
Passengers are advised only customers in possession of the special Iarnrod Eireann rail/shuttle bus ticket and the official Ryder Cup Admission ticket will be allowed board the special shuttle buses operating between Leixlip (Louisa Bridge) Station and the K Club.
Special rail & shuttle bus tickets are valid on any shuttle bus and connecting train service for the return journey between the K Club and Dublin City Centre via Leixlip.

Tickets will be posted to the person and address shown on the credit card used to make the transaction.

2. These tickets are not a seat reservation.
3. These tickets are non refundable.
4. These tickets are only valid on the services they are sold for. Customers may join the designated service at any station it serves.
